It is better than Terminator 3 whose only reason for existing is its cool ending. Terminator Salvation has some of the coolest sfx in a long time, but the plotholes are bigger than Jabba The Huts private barge. Still, I find it kinda interesting that James Cameron managed to create a much more horrifying future in the first Terminator with just a few models and an exploding Jeep. PG13, fuck you.
I really thoroughly enjoyed this one! Plot holes - yes, some cheesy scenes - yes, the 2nd half was not as good as the first half - true. But; the feeling of dirty, heavy, industrial machinery gone haywire and half-assed beta versions of terminators (read T-600's) roaming the wastelands, as well as the A-10/Hunterkiller dog fights (inlcuding the hot asian pilot chick) and the sheer impact of seeing all the shooting and blowing stuff up on the big screen made me smile from ear to ear.
SvaraRaderaChristian Bale did a good job bringing some stiff faced gravitas to the table as well. Too bad the cyborg guy actually was a modified human and not a true terminator believing it was human; some Blade Runner'ish potential lost there.
